Hi everyone, it’s Hattie 👋 Today I’m sharing my absolute favorite beach in California: Malibu!
While it’s not as famous or touristy as Santa Monica, the moment I stepped into Malibu, I was completely struck by its beauty 🌈
Honestly, I only added it to my itinerary after seeing a few travel blogs — I thought it might be “nice to visit.” But when I saw the sea and sky in person, all I could say was: it’s breathtakingly beautiful.
🍴 Lunch Spot — Moonshadows Oceanfront Restaurant (Currently Closed)
We had lunch at Moonshadows, one of Malibu’s most iconic oceanfront restaurants.
Sadly, it was completely destroyed in the wildfires earlier this year 🥲 — such a loss!
The restaurant had a cozy coastal vibe, beautiful ocean views, and fresh, flavorful seafood.
Even my practical friend Winnie said, “This is a place I’d bring my family back to.” ✨

🏞️ Point Dume Trail — Epic Cliffs & Ocean Views
This was the most surprising highlight of my Malibu trip — cliffs, beaches, and sea views all in one place, without the usual crowds.
It’s so spacious and quiet that it feels unreal.
📍 Navigation: 7103 Westward Beach Rd, Malibu, CA 90265
🅿️ Parking: Morden Parking — lots of spaces and easy to park.
After parking, walk a few minutes through sandy terrain (almost desert-like!), then hike up the cliffs.
The slope can be a bit steep, so take your time and be careful.
At the top, you get wide-open views of the Pacific and might even hear sea lions singing in the distance (I swear I wasn’t imagining it 🤣).
Every path offers new surprises — it’s truly one of Malibu’s must-do trails.
☀️ Malibu Beach — Quiet Sands & Dreamy Pink Skies
Walking from the main road to the beach, you’ll pass rows of gorgeous oceanfront mansions.
Americans really know how to build their dream homes — every one looks straight out of a movie 🏡✨
📍 Just set your GPS to Malibu Beach, and keep an eye out for the small paths leading to the shore.
This beach has zero tourist vibes — just locals walking their dogs, pure peace and calm.
💖 Come before sunset — the sky turns into a pastel painting of pink and blue hues.
In that moment, I honestly thought, “Wow, life can really be this beautiful.” 🥹
💡 Bring a picnic mat! You’ll definitely want to sit (or lie) down, listen to the waves, and pretend you’re one of the lucky locals living nearby 🤣
🌟Hattie’s Final Thoughts — If You Can Only Pick One Beach in California…
Choose Malibu.
It has everything — majestic cliffs, peaceful beaches, dreamy sunsets, elegant homes, and skies painted in pastel colors.
Every second feels cinematic.
And the best part?
Fewer tourists, total photo freedom, and unbelievably fresh air.
You’ll never want to leave.
